In the west cloister of Westminster Abbey is a memorial, with a braille version of the inscription, for Ian Fraser, Baron Fraser of Lonsdale. Blinded at the battle of the Somme he devoted his life to the welfare of visually impaired people.

A Canaletto painting of Westminster Abbey rarely seen in public goes on display in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries this week until autumn 2020.

George I was crowned at Westminster Abbey on 20th October 1714. He could not speak much English and the ceremonies were mostly conducted in Latin.
