Paralympic flame arrives at Abbey

The London 2012 Paralympic Torch Relay was welcomed to Westminster Abbey today by The Reverend Jane Hedges, Canon of Westminster.

Members of Chelsea Football Club's pan-disability squad, who had been nominated by Lord Coe, the London 2012 Chairman, carried the flame to Broad Sanctuary outside the West Door of the Abbey.

The 24-hour overnight relay route will see the Paralympic Flame carried 92 miles by 590 Torchbearers, working in teams of five, from Stoke Mandeville to the Olympic Stadium to officially open the London 2012 Paralympic Games later today.
