London Mayors attend Evensong

Mayors of the London boroughs attended a service of Evensong at Westminster Abbey on Sunday 16th October 2011 to celebrate the Feast of the Dedication of the Abbey.
The sermon was given by Rabbi The Rt Hon The Baroness Neuberger DBE, Senior Rabbi, West London Synagogue.
Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for Greater London, Sir David Brewer CMG JP, read Jeremiah 7: 1-11 and the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Susie Burbridge, read St Luke 19: 29-end.
The London Mayors’ Assocation was welcomed to the Abbey by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall.
The service was sung by the Choir of Westminster Abbey conducted by the Organist and Master of the Choristers James O’Donnell. The organ was played by Robert Quinney, Sub-Organist and before the service by James McVinnie, Assistant Organist.
