London Mayors attend Abbey Evensong

Evensong to celebrate the Feast of the Dedication of Westminster Abbey was held in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Westminster and the Mayors of the London Boroughs, together with members of the Greater London Lieutenancy, on Sunday 20th October 2013.

The service was conducted by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall, who also gave the sermon.

Councillor Robert Davis DL, Chairman of the London Mayors’ Association, read Jeremiah 7: 1-11 and the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Sarah Richardson, read St Luke 19: 29-end

The service was sung by the Choir of Westminster Abbey conducted by James O’Donnell, Organist and Master of the Choristers, and the organ was played by Daniel Cook, Sub-Organist. The organ was played before the service by Martin Ford, Assistant Organist.
