His Highness The Amir of Kuwait visits Westminster Abbey

His Highness The Amir of the State of Kuwait visited Westminster Abbey on Thursday 29th November as part of an official three-day state visit to the United Kingdom as the guest of Her Majesty The Queen.

The Amir was welcomed by the Dean of Westminster, The Very Reverend Dr John Hall, who presented members of the Chapter and other members of the collegiate body.

The Amir laid a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior, and The Lord Astor of Hever, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Defence, laid a wreath on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government.

Following Last Post and Reveille, four members of each of the three Armed Forces, all of whom served in the First Gulf War, were presented to His Highness.

The Amir was given a short tour of the Abbey by the Dean and signed the Distinguished Visitors’ Book.
