Abbey focuses on the future for women bishops

At the start of Christian Unity Week on Monday 18th January, Westminster Abbey hosted an evening to discuss one of the most hotly-debated topics in the Church of England - the ordination of women as bishops.

A Westminster Conversation: Women Bishops – Where Does the Church of England go from here? heard contributions from Bishop John Gladwin, formerly Bishop of Chelmsford; Bishop Martyn Jarrett, Bishop of Beverley; the Reverend Dr Michael Ovey, Principal, Oak Hill Theological College; and the Reverend Lucy Winkett, Canon Precentor, St Paul’s Cathedral. The Reverend Dr Jane Hedges, Canon Steward, Westminster Abbey, chaired the evening.
