A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of The Lord King of Wartnaby

The Rector of St Margaret's Church, Canon Robert Wright, officiated and gave the Bidding and the Blessing.

The Rector was assisted by the Reverend Deiniol Morgan, Minor Canon and Precentor of Westminster Abbey, who led the Prayers.

The Service was sung by the Choir of St Margaret's Church, Westminster Abbey, conducted by Mr Aidan Oliver, Director of Music. Dame Kiri te Kanawa was the Soprano soloist.

At the beginning of the Service, Dame Kiri te Kanawa sang At the River, a traditional American song arranged by Aaron Copland.

Mr Martin Broughton, Chairman, British Airways, gave a Reading.

Mr Simon Parker-Powles read the poem If by Rudyard Kipling.

Mr Ben Jefferies, Senior Church Warden, St Michael and All Angels, Wartnaby, read a passage from Romans 12, vs 9-18 on behalf of Lord King's children, Richard, Rachel, Philip and Rupert

The choir sang a setting of Psalm 121, to a tune by Henry Walford Davies, the Anthem Laudate Dominum by Mozart, accompanied by Dame Kiri te Kanawa, and the The Chorus of Hebrew Slaves with the words of John Bunyan put a tune by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

The Organ was played by Benjamin Bayl.

The Address was given by The Rt Hon The Lord Hesketh
