A service to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day will be held at Westminster Abbey on Thursday 8th May 2025 at noon.

The service which will be led by the Dean of Westminster, The Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle and sung by the Choir of Westminster Abbey will form part of the nation’s celebrations to honour and pay tribute to the Second World War generation.

Attendance 

Attendance is by invitation only.

Broadcast live on BBC television in the UK, the service will feature prayers, readings, music and special performances.

Events for VE Day 

Events for VE Day are taking place over four days beginning on Bank Holiday Monday, 5th May, and will also include the Cenotaph being dressed in Union flags, a military procession and a flypast in London.
