Overview
Introduce your pupils to democracy with this comprehensive lesson and accompanying teacher's notes. Discover its origins in Ancient Greece and how it evolved in Britain over time, before running your own mock election so that pupils can experience democracy for themselves. This could be taught in isolation, in a series with the other British Values lessons or before a British Values guided tour at Westminster Abbey.
