Florence Nightingale remembered at annual service

A Service to Commemorate the Life of Florence Nightingale was held at Westminster Abbey at 6.30pm on Wednesday 12th May 2025. The service is held annually to celebrate nursing and midwifery and all staff, both qualified and unqualified, and the importance of supporting one another through challenging times.

Sir James Wright
Diplomat
On 28th November 1785 Sir James Wright was buried in the north transept of Westminster Abbey. The inscription on his gravestone is now rather faint.

Elizabeth, Lady Latimer
Elizabeth, wife of Edward Osborne, Viscount Latimer, was buried on 5th May 1680 together with her daughter Lady Grace. But the location is unknown.

The ashes of the Hon. Nicholas Assheton were buried in the Islip chapel on 15th March 2013. He was Chief Honorary Steward from 2002-2006.
