  A Service of Thanksgiving for The Rt Hon Baroness Boothroyd: A Service of Thanksgiving for the life and work of The Rt Hon the Baroness Boothroyd will be held in Westminster Abbey.

• Lady Elizabeth & Joseph Nightingale

  In St Michael’s chapel, off the north transept of Westminster Abbey, is a remarkable monument, by L.F. Roubiliac, commemorating Lady Elizabeth Nightingale and her husband Joseph.

• Richard Annesley, Lord Altham

  Priest/Minister

  The Reverend Dr Richard Annesley, Lord Altham was buried in St Benedict's chapel on 25th November 1701, next to the monument of Cardinal Simon Langham.

• William Mauduit, Earl of Warwick

  The body of William Mauduit, 8th Earl of Warwick was buried in Westminster Abbey; the location is unknown. His heart was buried at Catesby Priory.

• John Parsons

  Musician and Composer

  John Parsons, organist and composer, is buried in the cloisters. He was the Abbey's Master of Choristers from 1613-1623, and Organist from 1621.

• John Windsor [Wyndsore]

  Soldier

  John Windsor, or Wyndsore, soldier, is buried in the north ambulatory The brass inscription plate on his gravestone has now been moved for better preservation.

• William Thynne

  In the south choir aisle is a tomb of alabaster and marble to William Thynne. His recumbent effigy in armour lies on a rush mattress.

• Robert Southey (gardener)

  Robert Southey was gardener at Westminster Abbey. He also held the post of Keeper of the Orchards and tended the lamps in the precincts.

  In the north choir aisle is a carved shield for John, Earl of Warenne, 6th Earl of Surrey. The arms are "checky, or and azure".

• Walter de Wenlok

  Abbot and Priest/Minister

  Walter de Wenlok was Abbot of Westminster from 31st December 1283 until his death on 25th December 1307. He was buried beneath the Cosmati pavement.

• John and Mary Granger

  John Granger (or Grainger) and his wife Mary are both buried in the centre part of the nave. The original gravestone was taken up in.

  Abbot and Priest/Minister

  Vitalis was Abbot from 1076 until his death on 19th June 1085. He was buried in the south cloister, at the foot of Abbot Gervase.

• Former Sub-Dean Canon Robert Reiss dies aged 80

  The Reverend Canon Dr Robert Reiss, former Sub-Dean and Canon Treasurer of Westminster Abbey, has died aged 80.

• George Wylde

  Politician

  George Wylde, politician is buried in the north ambulatory, near the entrance to St Paul's chapel. The stone is rather damaged and has been re-cut.

• Sir Robert Long

  Politician, Architect and Lawyer

  Sir Robert Long, politician and lawyer, was buried in the south choir aisle on 28 July 1673 but he has no monument or marker.

• Samuel Birch

  Physician

  Samuel Birch was buried in the north porch area on 20th June 1719 aged 72. But he has no monument or marker.

• Francis Hughes

  Musician

  Francis Hughes, well known opera singer of his day, was buried on 21st March 1744 in the west cloister but has no marker.

• Christopher Musgrave

  Politician

  Christopher Musgrave, Member of Parliament for Carlisle, was buried in the north transept on 16th September 1718 but he has no monument or readable gravestone.

• George Slaughter

  Soldier

  Captain George Slaughter was buried in the north cloister. His gravestone is no longer readable but the inscription was recorded in a book.
