A memorial to Captain James Cook, Sir Francis Drake and Sir Francis Chichester was unveiled in the south cloister on 4th October 1979.

Thomas Whitney and family
Thomas Whitney was buried at St Margaret's Westminster in 1637 but has no marker. Many of his children were baptised at the church.

Thomas Gayfere, mason, is buried in the west cloister of Westminster Abbey, together with his wife Frances and daughter. The gravestone was re-cut in 1996.

George III and Queen Charlotte were crowned in the Abbey on 22nd September 1761. The ceremony was long and they were not crowned until 3.30pm.

Meinhard Schomberg, 3rd Duke of Schomberg and Leinster, army officer, was buried in the Ormond vault at the east end of the Lady Chapel.

John Burgoyne, army officer, politician and author, was buried in the north cloister of Westminster Abbey alongside his daughter Charlotte in 1792.

Dr William Barnard, Bishop of Derry, was buried in the Islip chapel in Westminster Abbey. His white marble memorial tablet is now in the triforium.

In the south aisle of the nave is a memorial with bust to Zachary Pearce, Dean of Westminster. The monument was erected in about 1777.
