Two Knights Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath were installed in the Abbey's Lady Chapel on 10 July 2023.

William Wilberforce & family
Priest/Minister, Statesman and Abolitionist
William Wilberforce, MP, who took up the cause for the abolition of slavery was buried in the north transept. Samuel was Dean of Westminster and Basil was Archdeacon.

Earl of Carlisle Children
Politician and Soldier
Several children of the Howard family, Earls of Carlisle, are buried in St John the Baptist's chapel. Their names are inscribed on a marble stone.

Elizabeth, Countess of Desmond
Elizabeth Butler, Countess of Desmond was buried in St Paul's chapel in Westminster Abbey in 1629 but she has no marker. Her father's first wife Elizabeth Berkeley is also buried in this chapel.

Thomas and Elizabeth Moore
Elizabeth Moore was buried on 5th August 1720 in the east cloister. Her tablet has been moved to the wall of the Dark Cloister.

George Stradling and his wife Margaret are buried in the north aisle of the nave of Westminster Abbey but only Margaret's small stone is visible.

George IV
George IV's coronation in the Abbey in 1821 was a pageant that cost £230,000. A crown containing over 12,000 diamonds was specially made.

Prince of Wales attends Order of the Bath installation

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, Great Master of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, attended a Service for the Order at Westminster Abbey on Thursday 24th May 2018 in the Order’s 293rd year including the Ceremony for the Installation of Knights Grand Cross of the Order in the Lady Chapel, the Chapel of the Order.

Queen Victoria was crowned at Westminster Abbey on 28th June 1838, aged 19. The ceremony took five hours and suffered from a lack of rehearsal.
