• Mildred Cecil, Lady Burghley & Anne Countess of Oxford

  Philanthropist

  Mildred Cecil, Lady Burghley and her daughter Anne Vere, Countess of Oxford have a large monument in St Nicholas' chapel. Richard Cecil, Lord Burghley's father, is buried in St Margaret's Church.

  Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII, was crowned queen in Westminster Abbey on Whit Sunday 1st June 1533. The celebrations took place over four days.

  A memorial to Lt. General William Anne Villettes was erected in St John the Evangelist's chapel. It was later moved to St Andrew's chapel.

• Princess Anne, daughter of Queen Elizabeth II

  Princess Anne is the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. In 1973 she married Captain Mark Phillips in Westminster Abbey.

• Dean of Westminster to retire in November next year

  Her Majesty The Queen presented the Very Reverend Dr John Hall, Dean of Westminster, with the KCVO at his farewell audience at Buckingham Palace today.

• Anne of Cleves, 4th wife of Henry VIII

  Mary I ordered Anne of Cleves’ burial in the Abbey. She lies on the south side of the High Altar, her monument showing her initials.

• Anne (Stanhope), Duchess of Somerset & Jane Seymour

  Anne Stanhope, Duchess of Somerset is buried in St Nicholas' chapel. In the chapel of St Edmund is a monument to her daughter Lady Jane.
