The Reverend Jane Sinclair installed as a Canon of Westminster

The Reverend Jane Sinclair was installed as a Canon of Westminster during Evensong at Westminster Abbey on Sunday 7th September 2014.

At the Installation the Receiver General of the Abbey, Sir Stephen Lamport KCVO DL, presented and read The Queen's Grant and Mandamus in the presence of the Dean & Chapter of Westminster and the Collegiate body.

Canon Sinclair read the Latin Declaration and was led to her vacant stall in the Quire of the Abbey Church by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall.

During the service The Reverend David Stanton, Canon in Residence, read Ezekiel 12: 21-13: 16 and Canon Sinclair read Acts 19: 1-20.

The sermon was given by the Dean.

The service was sung by the Choir of Westminster Abbey conducted by James O'Donnell, the Organist and Master of the Choristers. The organ was played by the Sub Organist Daniel Cook.

Canon Sinclair was Archdeacon of Stow and Lindsey. She will become Canon Steward of Westminster Abbey, succeeding the Very Reverend Dr Jane Hedges who was appointed Dean of Norwich earlier this year.

Following the service, Canon Sinclair was installed at her place in Chapter within the Jerusalem Chamber.
