President of the Republic of Turkey visits Abbey

The President of the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency Abdullah Gül, and Mrs Hayrünnisa Gül, visited Westminster Abbey on Tuesday 22nd November 2011 during a State Visit to Her Majesty The Queen.

They were welcomed to the Abbey by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall, who then invited the President to lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.

The Dean and Chapter then escorted the President and Mrs Gül on a brief tour of the Abbey before inviting them to sign the Distinguished Visitors' Book.
