Dean takes High Tea on Henry’s roof
Tuesday, 26th May 2009
The Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall took tea on the roof of Westminster Abbey on the morning of Wednesday 20th May to help promote London to UK and overseas visitors. ‘High Tea’ took place on the roof of the Henry VII Chapel as part of Visit London’s ongoing ‘Only in London’ campaign.
Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, launched the campaign in April to showcase the unique experiences that London has to offer UK and international visitors - such as visiting Westminster Abbey.
The Dean said
It was quite a surreal experience sitting on top of the Henry VII Chapel drinking (cold) tea at 8.30am in the morning. I was however pleased to assist Visit London with their campaign and managed to say quite a lot about visiting the Abbey – and the views are extraordinary.
The ‘Only in London’ campaign highlights all the unique things the UK’s capital city has to offer; the heritage, the culture and the wide range of attractions and visitor experiences on offer throughout the year.
