Explore the history of the Benedictine monastery at Westminster Abbey, from the time when the first twelve monks arrived in 960AD until the dissolution of the monastery under Henry VIII in 1540.

On this 75-minute tour you will walk in the footsteps of the medieval monks as you visit the:
- Nave
- Quire
- High Altar
- Lady Chapel
- Poets' Corner
- Cloisters
- Chapter House
- Pyx Chamber - the oldest surviving part of the Abbey
- Jerusalem Chamber - part of the former Abbot’s house.

- You will then be prompted to book tickets for the Medieval Monastery tour, if available.
Additional information and restrictions
There is a maximum of 15 people per tour.
Photography is permitted, except in Jerusalem Chamber.
Most of the areas you visit on this tour are stepped and in some places you will only have a rope bannister as support. Please consider this carefully when booking.
