As the nation marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe, explore the enduring legacy of the conflict in Westminster Abbey.

This special tour will explore the impact of the Second World War on both the Abbey and the nation, unpacking how the complex legacy of the conflict has been commemorated inside the coronation church.

Discover how the Abbey sustained significant damage during the conflict, and learn about the ways staff and worshippers prepared to defend this historic building from destruction.

Look closer at the many poignant memorials commemorating the sacrifices that were made by people from across Britain and its Empire during the Second World War. Together, we will reflect on the meaning of these memorials and consider what they tell us about the enduring legacy of the conflict.
