Access the Abbey: British Sign Language tour
Delve into the history of Westminster Abbey on this special tour for British Sign Language users led by guide Edward Richards.
Westminster Abbey is a building steeped in history. Every stone and memorial has a story to tell.
Join guide Edward Richards for a tour of the historic coronation church, conducted in British Sign Language. This tour will take in highlights of the Abbey including the Grave of the Unknown Warrior and the Coronation Chair as well as offering the opportunity to discover more about the lives behind some of the Abbey’s many memorials.
British Sign Language is a visual spatial language, it involves a combination of hand shapes, facial expressions, lip patterns and body language.
This tour is open to both BSL users and those studying BSL. It is the first in a series of British Sign Language tours of the Abbey that we will be trailing over the next year.
