An Evening with Helen Carr: Sceptred Isle

Date Time Location Price
Wednesday, 28th May 20257.00pm - 8.00pmLady Chapel £15

Join historian Helen Carr as she explores the turbulent 14th century.

Three of the four Plantagenet monarchs who reigned during the 14th century are buried together in Westminster Abbey. Their reigns spanned a time of great political, social and cultural change which was shaped by regicide, pandemic and revolt.

In this special event to mark the launch of her new book Sceptred Isle, Helen Carr will illuminate the human stories that enrich our understanding of this pivotal period in English History. Combining the experiences of kings with lesser-known voices, she will present a new narrative of the tempestuous years between the death of Edward I and the deposition of Richard II.
