Lunchtime concert: St Margaret's Consort
A musical journey through 500 years of English history.
St Margaret's Church has a rich and fascinating history. This concert, given by the church’s professional choir, the St Margaret’s Consort, explores the wealth of connections between the church and prominent composers, literary figures and political thinkers over the course of the past 500 years. Come and hear music from the time of the church’s dedication through to the world premiere of a work by a member of the current Consort. Explore music inspired by the revolutionary poet John Milton and many others – and also learn how music by one of the church’s more flamboyant Victorian organists prompted a lawsuit in the US.
About St Margaret's Consort
St Margaret’s Consort is the professional choir that sings at services in the church, including at memorial services for some of the most prominent member of both Houses of Parliament and other public figures. They are conducted by Greg Morris, the Director of Music at St Margaret’s.
Tickets
Tickets without Abbey entry cost £10 and are bookable through Eventbrite.
Tickets cost £5 when bought in conjunction with an Abbey entry ticket through our website or with proof of Abbey ticket purchase.
Tickets will be available to buy by card on the day.

Timings
Entry to St Margaret’s is via the West Door to the church from 12.45pm. The concert will begin at 1pm and last for approximately 45minutes without an interval, finishing at around 1.45pm.
A concert ticket does not include Abbey entry, please book a separate ticket to the Abbey for entry through our website. We recommend visiting the Abbey either before the concert at 11am to allow time for the visit and lunch or at 2pm after the concert.
Access and security
Please be aware that your bag will be searched and we ask you not to bring any large items with you (for example suitcases, folding bicycles) as these will not be allowed inside and we are unable to store them for you.
On arrival please have your ticket ready to show our staff (on your mobile phone, or printed).
