Thomas Bond and family
On the south wall of St Margaret's church Westminster is a tablet to Thomas Bond and his family. He was a Burgess of the City of Westminster and was buried on 9th April 1616. The monument is attributed to sculptor William Wright. The main inscription reads:
Here under resteth in expectation of a glorious resurrection ye body of Thomas Bond Gentleman, sometimes a burgess of this citty of Westminster. And also ye bodies of Ellen his wife, of Thomas Bond their sonne and of Ellen theire daughter. To ye memory of whose Christian vertues theire dutiful sonne & loving brother John Bond, hath erected this remembrance.
A father, mother, sonne and daughter dear covered with earth, theire corps lye buried here, two aged dyde & two in prime of strength to teach ye death will conquer all at length. A vertuous life they lived made Christian ends and now a crown of glory them attends
