Henry Abingdon
Henry Abingdon, Master of the Choristers of the Chapel Royal in the reign of Edward IV, was buried in St Margaret's Church Westminster in 1497 (there was no burial register at this date but it is recorded in the Churchwardens' accounts). He has no memorial or marker. Later he was Succentor at Wells Cathedral 1455-75. Just before his death he was living in the Almonry at Westminster. He left endowments and a foundation for a perpetual chantry after his death. Richard Ede was one of these chantry priests, hired to sing for Abingdon's soul.
