Grenadier Guards
On the north wall of St Margaret's church Westminster hang two colours of the 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards. Below is a circular tablet which reads:
The Colours of the 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards were laid up on Sunday 5 December 1993 in the presence of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh KG, KT, Colonel Grenadier Guards.
The Grenadier Guards are the oldest foot guard regiment in the British Army. A regiment was formed in 1656 by Charles II.
