Anna Hassall
Anna Hassall was buried in a vault in the lower Islip chapel at Westminster Abbey on 26th November 1750, aged 37. She grew up in Kingston, Jamaica and inherited wealth from her husband Arthur (son of Arthur and Mary) who died in 1748. In London she lived with a friend in Little Ormond Street. Presumably this was Elizabeth Calendar, late of Jamaica, who was her residuary legatee. Her other bequests were to her father in law and his wife and to Francis Weaver of London.
A modern stone marks her grave with the inscription:
Anna Hassall 1750
Her will is in The National Archives.
