Britten A Ceremony of Carols
The Choristers of Westminster Abbey
James O'Donnell conductor
Benjamin Britten's much-loved sequence of carols for treble voices and harp forms the centrepiece of the Abbey's annual Christmas meditation. Drawing on a variety of medieval and early modern texts, each of the twelve movements is a vividly-painted miniature masterpiece. The musical performance is prefaced by a reading of The Christmas Proclamation.
