Meet in the Cloisters
Dress up in historical costumes or robe up as a king or queen to have your coronation photo taken! Then join in activities with our guests:
- Make, colour and decorate your very own Bishop’s mitre with St Paul’s Cathedral. Perfect for a coronation.
- Make a herbal pomander and learn about medicinal herbs with John Wesley’s House. Find out how medicinal herbs were used from the 1500s to the 1700s, and how John Wesley used them to give advice to the sick and poor of London. You can also have a go at making your own herbal pomander!
- Help design and create a modern cultural hub with Dulwich Picture Gallery as they celebrate 200 years since they opened as the first public art gallery. They were faced with the challenge of what their venue would look like. Now it’s your turn. Taking inspiration from London’s historic venues, help us create the ultimate arts space!
- Discover the Tudor legacy of London’s historic Charterhouse and made a Tudor rose. Cut, stick, make and create. Add your creation to our Wall of the Roses or take it away with you.
Families can also explore the Abbey using our new Family Trail, which includes activities, questions, and lots of special things to look out for. There is also the added incentive of a badge for all who finish it!
