Location - The Abbey

Visit Westminster Abbey this half term and celebrate the Commonwealth during a week of special events for families.

Join the Abbey and the Royal Commonwealth Society to explore art and culture from across this unique partnership of 52 countries, which together represent a third of the world’s people.

Activities for children aged 3 - 13 start on Monday 12th February and culminate with a special Family Day on Friday 16th February. All activities are free with entry to the Abbey.

Activities: Daily - Monday 12th - Thursday 15th February

Art in the Nave
10.00am - 12 Noon and 1.30pm - 3.30pm

Music and Dance performances
11.00am and 2.00pm

Commonwealth Family tours
1.15pm - meet at the Great West Door

10.00am - 3.30pm

Commonwealth Writers' Workshop - Monday 12th and Wednesday 14th February

As part of our Commonwealth celebration this half term, you can join one of these exceptional Booker Prize finalists at Westminster Abbey.

Please note that these workshops are open to young people aged 14-17 years only.

Enjoy performances by Commonwealth musicians and dancers in the Abbey:
10.30am African drumming and dance with Miishejeloi Dance Theatre, Ghana
11.30am Classical Indian Kuchipudi and Kathka dance with Arunima Kumar Dance Company and ANKH Dance
1.30pm Malay dance with Lili Muslihah and Siti Farahnazirah, Singapore
2.30pm Songs from Belize with Mike Lindup, Belize, and Calysponian with Alexander D Great, Trinidad and Tobago

Explore the Abbey, site of the annual Commonwealth Day Service, with our Family Commonwealth Trail

Commonwealth flag display
Explore the history and meaning of the flags of the Commonwealth nations, which will be on display in the Abbey's beautiful medieval Chapter House

Buy Tickets

Entry is via the North Door Priority Queue with your pre-printed ticket. Adult tickets are only available to those who purchase child tickets. Maximum of 4 children per adult. Adults are required to remain with their children throughout their time at the Abbey, including during tours and workshops.
