Westminster Abbey, the final resting place of Henry V, marks the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt this autumn with a special one-day conference for Henry V academics, students and enthusiasts.
Beyond Agincourt: The Funerary Achievements of Henry V on Wednesday 28th October 2015, 9.30 am – 5.00 pm will bring together experts from the fields of armour, architecture and conservation for the first time to uncover the significance of Henry V's funeral achievements – the king's shield, saddle, sword and helm – carried at his funeral, which took place at Westminster Abbey on 7th November 1422.
This short film showing the achievements was made by Director of the British Museum, Neil MacGregor to accompany his BBC Radio 4's series: Shakespeare's Restless World.
Henry V's funeral achievements today form part of the Abbey's collection and there will be an opportunity to view them before the conference.
