Westminster Abbey, the final resting place of Henry V, marks the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt this autumn with a special one-day conference for Henry V academics, students and enthusiasts.
Beyond Agincourt: The Funerary Achievements of Henry V on Wednesday 28th October 2015, 9.30 am – 5.00 pm will bring together experts from the fields of armour, architecture and conservation for the first time to uncover the significance of Henry V's funeral achievements – the king's shield, saddle, sword and helm – carried at his funeral, which took place at Westminster Abbey on 7th November 1422. | This short film showing the achievements was made by Director of the British Museum, Neil MacGregor to accompany his BBC Radio 4's series: Shakespeare's Restless World. |
Henry V's funeral achievements today form part of the Abbey's collection and there will be an opportunity to view them before the conference.
